Feirish Nor, Malaysia's number one junior shot an eagle at Samarahan Country Clubs Hole 13 during the Faldo Junior Series. Filipino Singer
I like the Filipinos. Why? Because they are talented in
music. They sing and play the music instruments well. Here a teenager comes to
my dinner table and requested for funds to help an orphanage. Although I knew
it was a scam but I graciously offered her some money for her to sing and at
the same time to capture this moment on video.

Liberty Golf Services Paves The Way!
Consistency is what sets the people at the top of their field apart from everyone else. Ng Eu Shen of Liberty Golf Services knows those words too well and it's inscribe deep within his heart. And every leader will know this secret.
I have known Eu Shen for close to 6 years now. I still remember the words of his dad, Simon Ng when he said few words on his son (during the wedding dinner).
"My son has been working with me for now 8 years now. The best part he likes golf very much. This is one of the profession that suits him very well. His capabilities and academic qualifications and with his superb networking skills, my son will be able to bring Liberty Golf Services to another level," said Simon.
The message from Eu Shen is simple and been grateful for those who have supported him. "Guys thank you so much for supporting Liberty Golf Services!"
Probably the number one Travel & Golf Companies in the country. And it's Consistency that sets Liberty Golf Services as a "leaders" from the followers.
End.
How I Became A Well-Known Video Journalist? I Followed Jack London!
There's no telling how far you can go in life.
Jack London is
a perfect example of that. Jack was a
dock worker among the roughest ports of the early 1900s America. That dock breed spoke illiterate English that was crude and unrefined. Jack London was just that – an illiterate dock
worker.
He lived off the streets. He never had any kind of opportunity. He was headed for a dead-end life.
Except ...
Jack had a burning desire. He had a burning desire to become a successful writer. He had no chance though. For starters he was a "nobody" dock worker. Second: He was illiterate, remember.
But Jack London did something anyone can do. He identified the main skills he'd need to master to become the writer he wanted to be.

But Jack London did something anyone can do. He identified the main skills he'd need to master to become the writer he wanted to be.
Those skills were intended to pull Jack up from the lowly
job of a dock worker to an author of
fiction books - and they were:
1) Reading
2) Intense grammar study
3) Self-education (a library study program)
4) Writing.
He did those 4 "main skills" before and after his 12-hour dock work.
What happened? What happened is this:
Jack London went on to write many best selling novels including: Call of the Wild, The Sea Wolf
and Martin Eden.

But that's not all ...
Adjusting for inflation - Jack London is one of the highest paid authors of all time. He went from illiterate dock-worker to one of the highest paid authors of all time by establishing the main
skills around his burning desire, and then working on them every day.
Anyone can do what Jack London did. Anyone can have a burning desire to do something with their life. And everyone can "chunk down" the main skills of the dream they want to accomplish.

Anyone can do what Jack London did. Anyone can have a burning desire to do something with their life. And everyone can "chunk down" the main skills of the dream they want to accomplish.
And you got it:
Everyone can find time around their existing job or responsibilities to concentrate on developing and
mastering their identified main skills.
Then it's just a matter of consistency. Doing them day, after day, after day. That's what Jack London did. And, as you now know, he went from illiterate dock worker to one of the highest paid authors of all time.

So:
What are the main skills you need to master to get you to the level you
want to be at?
Just identify them first. Then schedule in time every day
to work on them. Maybe all you
have is an hour to spare each day, maybe less.
That's okay. Just start with the time you have. Because the secret is in the consistency. Consistency is what sets the people at the top of their field apart from everyone else.

RAVINDRAN - A MAN WITH A MISSION
A man like Ravindran is a man of attitude. When he puts his heart, mind and soul to a project, there is only one direction and that is to take flight upwards to the stars.
I am happy for his recent promotion which he obtained. I knew this day would come sooner or later. It happened on 1st July, 2014 at the Samarahan Country Club.
It easy to spot Ravi from a distance, just look out for his "cowboy hat" a special identity which he created over the years even when I knew him back in Kuala Lumpur.
“Ravi
has set some excellent performances. After 17-months he managed the club well and brought
it to tournament standards. It was only fitting for the Management Committee to
reward him with this new title,” said Brian Chien, the President of Samarahan
Country Club.
Ravi
joined Samarahan on 1st February 2013 after leaving the Malaysian
Golf Association (MGA) back in 2012. With the guidance of the Management
Committee, Ravi has managed to streamline the management aspects of The Sarawak
Club Golf Resort for Samarahan Country Club (a take over which took place on
1st July 2014).
When
asked him about his new position, he put it humbly: “Success is an Attitude. It’s
not about me alone. It was teamwork. I received great support and cooperation
and this allowed us to hit our target. I am grateful to everybody at Samarahan
Country Club who believed in me. From my heart, I say thank you to all of you. It’s an honour
to be in Sarawak, particular in the Samaharan District. I will assist the
locals in whatever manner I can and together we will work hard on improving the
standard of golf management,” Ravindran said happily.
Ravindran’s
career in golf took flight in 1985 when he was appointed as Administrative
Assistant at the Senior Golfers Society. Two years later, he was promoted as
the Administrator, before becoming Manager from 1990 until 2004 when he took up
the post of Senior Manager at the MGA before being promoted in 2006 as the Deputy
General Manager. His hard work and selfless commitment to the association saw
him achieve the General Manager’s post in 2008, a post which he held until
2012.
I am happy for his recent promotion which he obtained. I knew this day would come sooner or later. It happened on 1st July, 2014 at the Samarahan Country Club.

SAMARAHAN OPEN @ “BRIAN CHIEN CHAI UNG "CHALLENGE TROPHY
The
4th Edition of the Samarahan Open also fondly known as the “Brian Chien Chai
Ung Challenge Trophy” will be played at the Samarahan Country Club, in Kuching, Sarawak from 12 to 14
September 2014.
The
golf tournament was implemented in 2011 and played over 36 holes but in 2012 it
was increased to 54 holes. In 2013 it received the blessings and sanctioning from
the Malaysian Golf Association (MGA) and even making headlines when it was included
into the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) monitored by R & A Ltd, the
governing body of golf. As a matter of fact, this is the second tournament in
Sarawak to be accorded with the WAGR status, the other being the Sarawak
Amateur Open.
Lee
Ka Tung from Sibu Golf Club who is ranked as the number one amateur golfer from
Sarawak is looking forward for his third win. He won the event twice in 2011
and 2012 but in 2013 he was edged narrowly by Lau Ching Leong by one stroke
margin.
The
Championship is open to all male golfers with an NHS Index of 12.9 (14 handicap
& below). The Entrance fee is RM300.00 and inclusive of one practice round
(excluding buggy fees), breakfast, lunch, buggy fees (for 3 days) and goodies.
Cars and cash are at stake for Hole-In-One achievers. Other off-course
activities during the tournament include golf equipment demos, golf clinics for
beginners and a Lucky Draw worth RM15,000.00.
To
enhance the level of play for this year, the Tournament Committee has set the
handicap limit to 14 with no cut-off (Gross & Nett) in order to decide the
champion who will not only walk home with the Samarahan Open Brian Chein Chai
Ung Challenge Trophy but with some vouchers worth RM3,500.00. A
special category (two-man team event) over 36 Holes only for gross play has been
introduced with no restrictions on the combination.
The
donor and sponsor of Brian Chien Trophy (president of Samarahan Country Club)
happily said: “We will see the crème de la crème amateurs from Sarawak vying
for the champion’s title. We have also sent invitation to international
affiliates and will likely for the first time get good respond and look forward
to the participation of an increased field of international golfers. With this we hope it will attract and increase
tourism in Sarawak.”
He
continued: “We also encourage local golfers to play at the Samarahan Country
Club, the only 18-hole golf course located in the Samarahan Division. The standard of the course has been improved
by leaps and bounds. I hope they will have a great experience of golf here.”
